December 27th. January meeting, As this was our first all day open meeting we had an attendance of 13, never seen before at SCHORC, with members from MBR, WHO and FLBT and of course SCHORC. The track layout was the largest seen at SCHORC, and commended as being very even for all 4 lanes and so the racing proved it to be. We raced 3 classes this month 2 as club event classes and Nascar as a pairs event drawn out the hat and running in the opposite direction for the fun of it! The open F1 was won by Marc Townsend with 22.7 laps, second was Martin Hill with 22.7 laps and fastest lap of 7.06 sec. and third was Craig Homewood after amazingly coming up from the D final as last in qualifing, with  22.4 laps, the second class was Modifieds which was won with class by club member Craig Homewood with 27.3 laps, second was Martin Hill with 26.8 laps, third was Paul Homewood with 21.3 laps and fastest lap was by Tony Stacey in the B final with 5.83 sec. A good time was had by all in this first of our all day events, and thanks to the visitors for coming and making this event exciting

January 29th, the second of our all day meetings. A non-championship racing day was enjoyed by 10 racers, 4 from SCHORC, 2 from MB, and 4 newbies, a big welcome to James, David, Bob and Ethan to large track HO racing, the F1 Tyco event was won by Martin Hill with 24.7 laps and fastest lap 6.39sec second was Tony Stacey with 22.6 laps and third was Craig Homewood with 21.8. after the 4 visitors left at lunchtime, we moved on to Modifieds and a good mix of chassis in this class today Martin with a Tomy turbo Gold magnet chassis Tony with a collection of SG+ chassis sorting them out for the next National, Craig with a Hill Marchon as was Matt Hill, Al Wood with a SG+ and Paul Homewood with any chassis we lent him, usually a Marchon, the winner was Martin with 27.4, second was Paul Homewood with 24.9 laps and third was Craig with 23.46 laps, Tony didn't make the podium after throwing his car off the track several times, but made the fastest recorded lap of 5.65 in heats unfortunately not all the lap times were recorded, but I am sure that Martin went faster, what a great fun day everyone went home smiling. For the record in the mod class final, the following lap times were recorded Paul, Marchon 5.94, Martin, Tubo gold 5.96 sec, Tony, SG+ 5.97 and Craig, Marchon 6.32

February 13 The last of our winter saturday programme, commenced at 11 am was enjoyed by 9 racers on the EAHORC national track that was to be used the next day, the first class we raced was F1 stock Tyco which was won by Paul Homewood with 20.2 laps, 2nd keeping Paul honest was Tony Stacey with 19.7 laps third was a returning Roy Masters recovering after his heart attack with 16.1 laps and fastest lap recorded of 8.23 sec.The second class was Modifieds which was won by Paul with 25.4 laps and best lap time of 6.38 sec. second was Tony with 21.6 laps and third was Al Wood with 20.6 laps, everyone enjoyed racing on the big track today, the smiling faces said it all.

March 16th A disappointing turn up for our March meet, 6 racers prepared to do battle. The track was, shall we say, a little taxing and no one particularly enjoyed it to start with but after a few heats some consistency was beginning to be seen. The first class we raced was F1 Tyco, Al to took the win with a 22.2 and fastest lap of 7,29, Paul finish 2nd with 20.5 and Tony 3rd with 19.7. Mod was our second class tonight the winner was Paul with 28.5, Al was second with  25.5 Jim  was third with 23.1. Quickest lap of the night went to Tony with 6.13. Not many racers tonight but the evening just flew by and spent in good company was great fun.

April 20th A low turnout due to Family matters and football, never the less 6 keen racers were raring to go on a track that was very different yet pleasing to drive, The first class was stock F1, won by a very fast Julian Allard making a visitors appearance, with 21.2 laps, second was Al Wood with 18.8laps and third was Roy back racing again with 18.6 laps and fastest lap of 7.78 secs. keeping Al very honest. And on to Mod for our second class tonight, and now down to 5 of us, Julian having departed for his 75 mile motorcycle ride home! close racing ensued and the A final qualifiers having been decided, the win was taken by Al with a stonking 26.7 laps, second was Jim with 22.6 laps and third was Tony with 16.1 laps and fastest lap of 6.21 in the heats, all racing 'Tony Tuning' Marchons. Although the track looked complicated it was easy to marshal, with 3 marshals and possible with 2 marshals at a stretch and the driver station positioning allowed very easy sighting of the whole track!! National track designers please take note. Again a very competitive nights racing spent in good humour with a great bunch of guys.

May 25th Despite a few missing regulars, May saw a good turn out of nine racers including two new guys for our May meeting. Welcome Paul and Lee to your first SCHORC meeting!Tony had laid out another surprisingly tricky course that caused an eventful free practice with plenty of offs before racing got properly under way.Racing started with the F1 Tyco stock class.Tony was top F1 qualifier followed closely by Roy and Jim. By winning the b final Paul stepped into his first A final with a quiet confidence, lining up against Tony, Roy and Jim. A few incidents during the first few laps saw Paul secure an early lead and despite some fierce driving behind him he kept his cool and took the F1 A final in what was his first time racing HO. Very impressive stuff. Paul 20.1 laps, Tony 17.9 laps and Roy 16.8 laps, Paul and Tony shared the fastest F1 lap with a 7.45. The mod field was once again made up of predominantly Marchon chassis which have given some incredibly close racing in previous meetings. Tony proved to be the star of qualifying with an impressive 26.6 laps in the blue lane. Tony, Al, Jim and Roy lined up on the grid for the A final. After a good start Tony streaked off in the lead and left Al and Jim in a nail biting fight for 2nd place. After nearly 20 laps of wheel to wheel racing Jim pushed just a bit too hard and lost it on one of the track's hairpins. Pushing hard to catch back up with Al, he had a few more offs and didn't manage to close him down again. Ahead of all this Tony cruised to victory with 26.5 laps and the fastest lap of the night with a 6.10. After worrying about Jim for the whole race Al was surprised to discover he was only four tenths behind Tony at the end of the three minutes.Overall another great evenings racing in fantastic company!
